In the wake of Corona virus hitting Nigeria slowly, we have seen quite a number of commendable initiatives all striving towards helping Nigeria win the war against Covid 19.

We have listed, in no particular order, some of these individuals and organizations, from different sectors, that are helping out in their own way. This is not an exhaustive list.

We need your help with putting the spotlight on people and organizations helping out. You can send us an email (info@changeforsociety.com) if you know any one and any organization that is not listed here. Chinedu Anozie

Chinedu Anozie is a goalkeeper with Plateau United and has led the way in providing supporting to those who may be hard hit by the pandemic. The NPFL professional gave four of his fans N5,000 each to make sure that they have something during the lockdown.

Although it may not sound like much, when you consider that the majority of NPLF players earn less than 400,000 per annum (i.e. less than N35,000 a month), you would appreciate the kind gesture and ultimately the message that we should be our brothers’ keeper, especially now.

‘Too much + too little = enough” is the firm belief of Ibukun Awosika, who set up the Citizen for Citizen initiative. The initiative seeks to draw resources from well-meaning Nigerians, home and abroad, to augment the efforts of the Nigerian government and other corporate or private efforts, in the areas of healthcare, awareness and welfare of Nigerian citizens.

Mrs. Awosika, who is the Founder of The Chair Company and Chairman of the First Bank Group, also believes that as citizens, we can also play a role during these times and aims for the initiative to be a platform to allow citizens play a direct role in response efforts  to this COVID-19 pandemic.
