500 Training Centers to be Set up for CODELAGOS

CodeLagos, an initiative of the Lagos State Ministry of Education aimed at equipping 1 million people with computer programming skills by 2019 will be getting 500 training centers by April.

The programme which is set to be launched in April has partnered with the organised private sector, various Old Students’ Associations, Private School Administrators and other strategic stakeholders within and outside the State to set up coding centers across the State.

ARM Pensions is already confirmed to set up 15 centres which will be established in low income schools. This is in line with the state government’s commitment to promoting inclusive governance and qualitative education for all citizens. Companies like Etisalat and Oracles have also confirmed that they would also be setting up centers.

The coding education framework will provide basic- to proficiency-level competence in Computer Science, Information technology and digital literacy for participants.
